Chicken with Masala Chili Sauce
Ingredients
- 500 g boneless chicken thighs
- 250 g onion
- 100 g tomato
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 pack cream
- 10 g red chili powder
- 5 g cardamom
- 5 g ground cumin
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 200 g strained yogurt
- 3 tbsp Seres Foods Masala Chili Sauce
Preparation
Cut the chicken into bite sized pieces. Mix the diced chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, salt, cumin, and red chili powder until well coated. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight. Heat oil in a pan. Sauté the marinated chicken pieces until browned, then set aside. In the same pan, melt butter. Sauté the onions and garlic until softened but not browned. Add the grated tomato and tomato paste and mix well. Add the bay leaf and Seres Foods Masala Chili Sauce. Gradually add room temperature cream while stirring to thicken the sauce. Make sure to cook the sauce over low heat. Transfer the sautéed chicken into the rich spiced sauce. Cook for a while longer to let the chicken absorb the flavors. After cooking, cover and let it rest for 15 minutes. Serve with the sauce.
